Sweden | Trip to Stockholm for October 28th
Arrival in Stockholm and we begin straight away the tour of the city. The capital of Sweden is also known as the Venice of the North, because it is built on 14 islands. Stockholm impresses even the most demanding visitor with its exceptional architecture, the cleanliness and order, the large parks and the whole organization of the city. In our tour we will admire the Old City (Gamla Stan) with the paved alleyways, the Royal Palace, the Parliament and the impressive Cathedral. Then we will see the City Hall, an unusually charming building influenced by different architectural styles, which is the city’s symbol. The rest of the day is free for shopping and visiting Stockholm’s great museums. Choose among the National Museum of Stockholm, the brand new Modern Art Museum and the Architecture Museum on the tiny Skeppsholmen island, the famous Vasa boat and the outdoor museum-zoo Skansen that is essentially a miniature of the history of the country, on the Djurgarden island. Finally, the tower of the City Hall, 106 meters tall, offers the most beautiful panoramic view of the impressive architecture of the city. After the end of the tour, transfer to the hotel.
Breakfast at the hotel and we suggest living the Millenium beat of Stockholm. Are you a fan of Stieg Larsson’s amazing trilogy about the reporter Mikael Blomkvist and the hacker Lisbeth Salander? Experience Stockholm through the point of view of the characters. The Scandinavian crime novels are very successful. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl who played with Fire and The Girl who kicked the Hornet’s Nest have sold many copies worldwide. You can see the city through the Millennium trilogy by participating to the popular and famous «Stieg Larsson Millennium Tour» at the city museum of Stockholm. The tour by foot is enriched by facts and interesting stories that entwined the real Stockholm with the fictional one.
After breakfast we suggest to experience the atmosphere of the Medieval Stockholm! Every day tourist from around the world come here to hear the sounds of the past and get lost in it in the narrow streets. The houses, the signs and the squares still have the elements of the past. The Museum of the Medieval Stockholm is the only owner of the keys for the cellar of the Black Friar’s Monastery at Gamla Stan. If you are lucky you can descend to the medieval tomb and learn about the legends of the Dominican era. A popular attraction is also the History and Ghosts’ tour.
Breakfast at the hotel and today we suggest a trip to the dancing beats of Sweden. In the ABBA Museum you can dance as much as you want. ABBA Museum is not a typical museum. The costumes of the group, the gold disks, the original objects and other memorabilia are here. But here you can feel as the 5th member of the group, dress with the costumes of that era, sing at the Polar studio, experience amazing 3D illusions and perform with the band.
The Royal Theater is the heart of the Swedish drama. The building was built in 1908, designed from the famous architect Fredrik Lilljekvist, while the artists Carl Milles and Carl Larson incorporated a visual intervention. The drama school that is housed there, trained many famous actors and directors.
The Fotografiska Museum was founded in 2010 and is the largest meeting point for contemporary photography. Its exhibitions are considered some of the best worldwide.
After breakfast, we suggest a last walk at SkyView. SkyView, on top of the Globe, is a world famous attraction on the top of Ericsson Globe, the building – symbol of Stockholm!
